August 7th, 2006 Meet the Scots, Day 1

Caught up with the Edinburghers and one Leither on Saturday night. LOVE them. Tall (as a minority but we’ll give it to the group), thin (completely as a rule), gorgeous and perfectly sociable. Hope I fared well enough to merit a second go-round. Not sure that I made the grade as, unfortuantely per usual when meeting new people, I was a tad shy (YES I CAN BE SHY!!! Yeesh! Lay off!); also shockingly sleepy and called it quits early. No reflection on them.

Saw the Finnegans Wake show (Shem the Sham?). Significantly less comprehensible than I’d expect. Exhuberant, definitely. But I was still disappointed. After 13 years of breaking down the text I rather hoped he’d be able to ellucidate each idea enough that we’d be saved the effort of puzzling through the gibberish. Perhaps it needs a fuller multi-media effort with full cast and animation? I do still believe it can be done. Not easy, but possible. Certainly Adam Harvey deserves and gets a hat tip for both the herculean effort required just to memorize the damn thing and as a performer. Kudos. He thoroughly engages the audience as an assortment of clearly defined fully expressed different people. Superb use of the barely a costume black suit and lighting.

Matriculated today. The horses (us) are out of the gate and the race is on! I’m hoping I can keep up. Tomorrow we get a tour of the facilities, Wednesday we begin class. No rest for the wicked, they say. So why can’t I get any? Hahaha.

May 12th, 2006 Rock out, Kelly Ford!

“When The Birds star Tippi Hedren saw the SpyAnts’ clever spoof, The Birds: A Tail of Ornithic Proportions, she was won over and asked the troupe to perform at a benefit for her Roar Foundation, which provides a sanctuary for mistreated exotic animals. For this special one-night-only performance, Hedren and Birds co-stars Suzanne Pleshette and Veronica Cartwright make cameos in an evening that is sure to make Alfred Hitchcock roll over in his grave. The Howard Fine Theater in the Hollywood Playhouse Complex, 1445 N. Las Palmas Ave., Hollywood; Sat., May 13, 8 p.m.; $100, includes hors d’oeuvres, wine and silent auction. (323) 860-8786.” from LA Weekly

May 11th, 2006 I <3 Eddie I

Eddie Izzard Saw Eddie Izzard today. Wasn’t wearing anything remotely like a dress, in fact was rather manly in jeans and button-down, but he still is super sexy British guy and damn damn funny. Made reference to being an Action Transvestite undercover, much like a Superhero out of costume. In fact, generally is much like a superhero except it takes much longer for him to change and by the time he arrives it is usually too late to be of much help but at least he has lipstick. Hope he doesn’t mind my giving that away but I guess letting people know he’s an Action Transvestite is sort of like giving away how big a fan he is or was of Steve McQueen. Well-known fact and if you don’t know it by now, well grab a horse and get on because you should. Horse reference here being due in fact to his recent role in Blueberry which I admit to not having heard of before tonight and certainly not seen yet.

Meanwhile, am receiving dozens of comments a day (72 to be exact) from the phentermine folks telling me that this is the best site ever. I’m so flattered by all this attention, I can hardly believe it! LOL. I hope it’s not just spam?

P.S. Thank you, IDreamInCode for getting me thoroughly addicted to the Da Vinci Code Quest. I needed a new set of games to play.

[This was going to be it's own post but then didn't really feel like it fully qualifies.]

DRATS!! (or is it singular, one drat?) They took away the game already! I hadn’t finished. No codex for me but that’s really not why I was playing. Mostly, I am just a big fan of time-wasting puzzles.

April 9th, 2006 Ooooh, my head

Well, the War is over. Trojan War that is. Or at least it will be in a few hours. This Helen though? Is really done. Good party, bad hangover.
