Have been in New York nearly a week now (or is it more than a week now? I am never sure of the day.) A lot has happened and yet I still haven’t seen any of my NYC friends. Just family and some “nearly” / “extended family” so far, and not even all of them. Looking forward to wedding(s) and b-days very much so and emphatically hope additional timing with friends will work out soon.
Got to catch up with the momsie on Friday, went to a Mets double-header on Saturday with my dad and uncle [Very fun times with the two ever-funny brothers Frumess. Yay, Carlos Beltran! (Poor cute, young David Wright was still mid-slump.) Lost 3-2 then won 17-3.], had family-plus breakfast on Sunday and then went up to Roscoe to visit long-time best friend, Tonya Marie, whose family has suffered great losses these past few weeks between flood damages to house and property & the loss of her beloved grandfather [so to add insult to injury, when we walked into my folks' home for blankets, etc. my / parents' dog, Jerry BIT her! This is not a little scratch but a quarter-sized chunk out of her right inner thigh. Needless to say it was a rough afternoon at the emergency room.] Day of internet TRYING to solidify pending housing requests, outstanding financials, and similar with mixed success. Today am in the Bronx with the grands for yummy dinner and brief afternoon visit to Great-Aunt-A in hospital, no,… has been returned to the nursing home… and then am picking up the B-ster & fam at airport in wee a.m. hours.
As my Pops says, I am the most heavily scheduled unemployed person ever.
