September 30th, 2005 Keep religion out of our schools!

This funny site was sent to me as a link by a true believer who knows that science has no practical applications. Considering recent events and previous conversations regarding similar topics, the timing is impeccable! Thanks Ant!

My particular favorite detail in this letter is the chart below showing the direct correlation between the decrease of pirates and the increase of global temperature.

September 29th, 2005 Justice will be a long time coming

We knew it was going to happen - John Roberts has been confirmed. The thing is, as unabashedly detrimental as this administration is, no guilt or responsibility sticks. No one seems capable of preventing the Junior from getting everything he wants. I don’t understand what he has over his peers but sadly it works. It’s a dark time for women, a dark time for civil rights. The times they are a changing and may it show some change towards a bright future. Purged of apathy, replaced with Hope.

What this article doesn’t really explain is how the "new cases of fistulas" are a direct result of these pregnant women being brutally raped, particularly gang raped, and how many of these women are under 18.

Lilo, Romina and I went to Palm Springs the weekend of Sept 24 & Sept 25 to support our friend, Adam’s short I’m Not Gay making the festival. T’was quite funny. But of course, I’m biased. After the screening, we went out for drinks and got totally dissed by his friends. Their basic assessment (as verbalized)? Go back to NY! Oops.

On Sunday, we decided to check out Joshua Tree National Park. Romina mentioned wanting to try rock climbing and a really sweet couple who were scaling a 10C offered to let us try. I had such a thrill from just getting off the ground that now I’m on a mission: get in shape and conquer this sport! (Does it count as a sport?)

[as usual, c lic the pic for more!]
