The history of the comics book industry, and the relationship between Superheroes and The War as told through the fictitious lives (with some interesting historical tie-ins) of two young Jewish cousins, one from Prague, the other from Brooklyn, who give birth to their secret hopes and dreams in the blue lycra clad form of “The Escapist”…. I found the book slow reading, a little difficult to get through although well written.
